Про репетитора Polina

I am currently an Early Stage Researcher (PhD) at Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia), where I continue my work in a research-driven academic environment.
I hold an MSc in Chemistry and have completed research training in France also for 2 years, where I worked with complex chemical reactions and advanced topics in a professional scientific environment. I am accustomed to dealing with challenging material, multi-step reaction systems, and rigorous analytical reasoning. I also take part in large competitive grant programs, which require discipline, precision, and a deep understanding of chemistry.

When I work with a student, I invite them to become my student in the classical sense: someone who is willing to think, ask questions, and engage seriously with the subject. I do not teach chemistry as a set of formulas to memorize. Instead, I focus on developing chemical thinking, methodological clarity, and the ability to reason independently.

I demonstrate chemical techniques clearly, explain how chemistry functions in real research and real life, and expect intellectual honesty and effort in return. This approach is best suited for students who want to understand chemistry deeply and are ready for focused, thoughtful work.

Chemistry without the memorization circus!
Let me guess. You’ve memorized the reactions. Then the exam changes one substituent, and your brain goes quiet.

That’s not stupidity. That’s what happens when chemistry is taught as a list to cram instead of a system that actually makes sense. I fix that.

I come from research, not from a loop of reading textbooks aloud. I teach chemistry the way it works in real life: as a tool, not a punishment.

How it goes?:

I find the hole. Usually it’s not where you think. Often the real problem sits two topics back, and you’ve been patching the wrong wall.
I build the logic. From first principles up. No magic, no “just remember it.”
I show how it’s actually done. Reactions, mechanisms, calculations, analysis, step by step, the way it happens at a lab bench, where nobody asks you to recite anything.
We find where it lives. Medicine, industry, materials, your kitchen. Same chemistry, different packaging.

What you get?:

Thinking instead of cramming
Mechanisms you can predict, not just recall
The ability to meet an unfamiliar problem and not panic
Confidence that comes from having solved things yourself, not from being told “you can do it”

What you won’t get: pressure, rushing, or a raised eyebrow at your questions. The “dumb” question is usually the one the textbook skipped, and it’s where understanding starts.
